Keyplay signals are broken into 4 categories: Profile, Org, Relevance, and Stack. This article covers each category and generally how signals are defined in each.
Profile
Profile signals encompass characteristics of an account like employee size, company founded date, funding amount, and category.
For a more in-depth analysis of the categories and secondary categories we cover: see our About Our Data Gsheet.
Relevance Signals
Relevance signals are often indicators pulled from a company's website directly, and include things like demo (does the website have a demo button), free trial(is there an indication of a free trial on the website), etc. It also includes signals like web traffic and number of LinkedIn followers.
Relevance signals also include "job mentions" signals, which search job posts for specific keywords. For example, the signal "Job Mentions Soc2" looks for mentions of Soc2 in a company's job posts, which could indicate they're currently working on getting or maintaining their Soc2 certification
Stack Signals
Stack signals are looking for if an account uses a specific software. This can be done by searching for unique URLs that indicate a software being used on the website, by mentions in job posts, or by using a third party tool.
Org Signals
Org signals encompass signals such as hiring for specific roles, if they've hired for a role in the past (defined as "has function" in Keyplay), and headcount growth.
These signals pull from company's job boards in order to look for open roles in specific functions.
"Has" signals, such as "Has Customer Success" mean that the company had an open role for that function in the last 18 months.
